Holy Matrimony

The Episcopal Church views marriage as a lifelong union that is intended by God to bring joy, comfort, and, when it is God’s will, the opportunity for procreation. At least one person in the couple must be baptized Christian, and the ceremony must be witnessed by at least two people. The marriage must also comply with state laws and the canons of the church.

Information about the Blessing of Same-Sex Relationships and the Episcopal Church may be found here. LGBTQ+ persons are welcomed to be married at St. Peter’s.

The Book of Common Prayer is the form used for the solemnization of a marriage at St. Peter’s Church. You can find suggested readings and hymns in our Planning Guide. For more information, contact the Parish Office.
