St. Peter’s Youth
Children transition from Sunday School to St. Peter’s Youth (SPY), where spiritual growth is fostered throughout Middle School and High School years.
SPY is a fun place where youth can grow, learn, and explore, as well as question, in a safe place. It consists of two elements: Junior SPY, grades 6-8, and Senior SPY, grades 9-12. We endeavor to support and empower our youth through activities and studies in the areas of Spirituality, Education, Fellowship, and Service to be witnesses in the body of Christ and throughout the world. SPY usually meets once per month, typically the third Sunday of the month, from September to May. Junior SPY meets from 4:45–6:15 pm and Senior SPY from 6:15–7:45 pm.
Confirmation
Confirmation is the sacrament that follows Baptism, as children enter adolescent years and are able to take on responsibility for fulfilling their Baptismal Vows. Preparation classes are held every other year in the spring, followed by Confirmation by the Bishop. Confirmation forms may be found here.
Youth Mission Trip
This annual service project takes place in different locations early summer each year. Adult chaperones join Sr. SPY members working on building, repair or other projects for those in need.
Acolytes
Youth grades 6–12 are trained to light the altar candles, bear the Gospel Book in the Gospel procession, receive the offerings, receive the elements, and assist the Presider in setting the Altar for Communion.
