Saint Peter’s Youth
Children transition from Sunday School to St. Peter’s Youth (SPY), where spiritual growth is fostered throughout Junior and Senior High School years. If you have questions about our youth ministry, grades 6 – 12, please contact Fr. Anthony, our Youth Minister at email@example.com
SPY is a fun place where youth can grow, learn, and explore–as well as question–in a safe place. It consists of two elements: Junior SPY, grades 6 – 8, and Senior SPY, grades 9 – 12. We endeavor to support and empower our youth through activities and studies in the areas of Spirituality, Education, Fellowship, and Service to be witnesses in the body of Christ and throughout the world. SPY usually meets twice per month, typically the second and fourth Sunday of the month, from September to May. Junior SPY meets from 4 – 5:30 pm and Senior SPY from 5:30 – 7 pm.
Confirmation is the sacrament that follows Baptism, as children enter adolescent years and are able to take on responsibility for fulfilling their Baptismal Vows. Preparation classes are held every other year in the spring, followed by Confirmation by the Bishop.
Youth Mission Trip
This annual service project takes place in different locations early summer each year. Adult chaperones join Sr. SPY members working on building, repair or other projects for those in need. Please contact Fr. Anthony firstname.lastname@example.org if you would like to chaperone.
Youth grades 6 – 12 are trained to light the altar candles, hold the Gospel Book in the Gospel procession, receive the offerings, receive the elements, and assist the priest in setting the Altar for Communion. Periodic training is held by the Acolyte Head. Frank Butterfield email@example.com
